FAQs

We understand you have questions, and we have answers. Please refer to the FAQs below, and please don’t hesitate to call if you have further concerns. Dr. Scott Chandler and Dr. Geddes aim to be as explanatory and communicative as possible during your visit. We look forward to giving your family caring biological dentistry in Park City, Utah.

How do you treat sleep apnea?

We happily offer home sleep apnea tests with equipment that is approved by most medical insurances. This is to measure your breathing and blood oxygen level. We may also measure your heart rate or other aspects of your body. This is often more accurate and comfortable for patients than going to a sleep center for testing.

What is holistic, or biological, dentistry?

We offer holistic dentistry, which can also be referred to as biological dentistry. This type of care means we only use safe, natural materials and procedures in our office. Dr. Scott Chandler and Dr. Geddes evaluate your overall, long-term health as part of your treatment care. We also refrain from substances that are toxic to the body, such as mercury in fillings and gutta-percha in root canal therapy. We also recommend Xylitol for stronger teeth and cavity prevention rather than fluoride.

Does Dr. Chandler have training as a biological dentist?

Dr. Chandler has been dedicated to the field of dentistry since 2001 and is well-trained in natural dentistry. He is a member of the Holistic Dental Association and often works with well-known natural healers, such as Dr. Mark Lafferty in Park City, Utah.

How are the materials and procedures different at our office?

The materials and procedures used at our practice have been tested and proven to not interfere with a patient’s biomeridians or energy flows.

Are metal fillings really dangerous?

Because metal expands and contracts with fluctuating temperatures, metal fillings also do. This means decay can grow in the spaces surrounding the filling. It has also been shown that over time, metal fillings have cracked teeth and leaked toxins as they break down. For this reason, we do not use any metals at our practice and offer zirconia dental implants as an alternative to titanium.

Are there advantages to zirconia or metal-free dental implants?

Since 2004, implants made with zirconia have shown no adverse effects. In fact, it has been demonstrated to not interfere with the body’s biomeridians.
